Susa Young Gates, (18 March 1856 - 27 May 1933) was daughter of Brigham Young and prominent female figure in early Utah Church history.
Joseph Gilpin Young Sanborn (22 Dec 1908 - 5 Jan 1985) was a nephew to Susa via her younger sister Rhoda Mabel Young.
In private hands with current owner for more than 20 years.

Text: Unique formatting and page layout due to small print size, unlike concurrent volumes printings of the time. Red coloring on the text edge block.
Inscription: Front end paper: “Mrs. S. Y. Gates, 672 N 1st(?) West St Salt Lake City Utah. To my darling nephew Joseph G Sanborn I give this precious book which I have carried all over Europe and America! May it prove a blessing and protection is the prayer of his loving (illegible). Aunt Susa Gates” Back end paper: “Lost ten tribes”, “Sin-evil” and several scripture references in pencil.
