Spine: Canvas. Noticeable wear on edges and top and bottom ends. Spine Lettering and Label: Block title and symbol fading but visible. Cover: Canvas hard covet. slight wear on upper and lower corners. Embossed perimeter visible. Binding: Spine/cover hinge intact. Inside pastedown has bookplate sticker listing “Private Library of Walter & Mary Straub”. Pastedown and front end paper recto contains a newspaper clipping listing the 1830 Book of Mormon title page and preface. Front end paper recto: Ink stamp listing W.L and Mary Straub with 100.00 price in pencil. Second end paper back Verso: Ink stamp listing WL Straub with several letters after name (degrees and titles). Ink stamp listing Colorado Bible College, Fort Collings Co. Another ink stamp at bottom of page listing Returned Postage Guaranteed Title Page: Present and Intact. No noticeable markings. Text: Full text block. Witness page contains several annotations in top, right and gutter margins. Inscription: Front end paper recto lists “Straub” in handwritten ink under a portion of the newspaper clipping pasted to page. The rest is hidden by the newspaper clipping. Notes: Page 49 showing a page mark from a paperclip at top margin edge. |
