Spine: Deteriorated spine, separated from covers. binging and gatherings exposed on lower spine section. Spine Lettering and Label: library sticker listing title, Nauvoo and 1840, overlaying spine where original label would be. Cover: Present, detached from spine and text block. Book tape along spine edge. darkened coloring elsewhere, wear marks on outer corners. Binding: Covers have separated. Text block still bound. Front endpapers missing. Title Page: Both title pages present. First title page showing presents of water stains at gutter and lower right corner. Top, outer and lower edge showing darker discoloration. 2nd title page showing similar water marks. Darker discoloration on upper and lower left edge (tape stains?). Red Ink stamp marking of “TAFT GENERAL” lower gutter and “29 Ja 42 Hook” on lower edge. Text: No recorded markings Inscription: Front pastedown has fading illegible inscription with date, 31 1880 date.
