Provenance	Part of the Private Library of Alexander Campbell, transferred to Bethany College. Alexander Campbell (1788-1866), was a minister with his father who influenced the Campbellite-Restoration movement within the 2nd Great Awakening of the early 1800’s.
Unique Features	Spine: Worn and signs of deterioration. Middle lines present, but gold worn off. Spine Lettering and Label: right half missing. letters “BOOK O….MOR” visible but gold worn away. Cover: Detached cover, diagonal scratch from upper left down to center edge. Wear mark on right edges. Binding: Cover detached from hinge. Front end papers present. Title Page: Present and attached. slight triangular cockling on both upper and lower left corners. Bethany College ink stamp on upper right corner. Text: various annotations in pencil on margins throughout text block. Inscription: inside front cover in ink listing “A. Campbell Bethany Va”. front end paper recto in pencil: Library of B*** (illegible). 2nd end paper recto in ink: A. Campbell Bethany Va” Notes: Back inside cover oval ink stamped “Bethany College Carnegie Library” & “29681” in pencil in upper left corner, & center back inside cover illegible writing in pencil.
